Those day lah it use to represents the premium variant of Volvo’s long-running and iconic 240 series, which was first introduced in 1974 (i think). Known for its legendary durability (volvo for life) , safety, and practical design, the 240 quickly became a favorite among families, professionals, and enthusiasts who valued reliability over flash.

maybe by the mid 80s (i googled), the 240 Series had undergone several refinements, and the GLE (Grand Luxe Executive) trim was positioned at the top of the range. The GLE typically featured a fuel-injected 2.3L B23E or B23F inline-four engine, delivering smooth performance with improved fuel economy and cleaner emissions.
